You've tried the planners.
You've tried the apps.
You've tried trying harder.

Executive function coaching works because we start with how your brain works.

Does this sound like your life?

I work with both adults and students, and the patterns are often the same.

FOR ADULTS

Exhausted from trying to keep it all together.

You've read the books and tried the systems. They work for a bit and then quietly disappear.
You keep a lot of balls in the air but dropping one feels like dropping all of them at the same time.
You wonder if everyone else finds this stuff as exhausting as you do. It shouldn't be this hard.
You might have a diagnosis. You might not. Either way, something has felt off for a long time.

You don't have to keep white-knuckling your way through every week. There's a better way forward.

FOR STUDENTS & THEIR PARENTS

Frustrated because you know they can do it.

Your kid knows what they need to do but starting feels impossible. You've watched this cycle for years.
"I'll do it later" turns into midnight panic more often than you realize. The cycle keeps repeating.
Everyone says they're smart and you know it's true. That somehow makes the struggle harder to watch.
The nagging is wearing you both down. You want your relationship back, not another fight about homework.

Coaching lets someone else be the accountability partner so you can go back to being the parent.

There's a name for this. And there's help for it.

They're called executive function skills and coaching helps build them.
It's not about trying harder, it's about trying differently.

Executive function coaching is

Collaborative. We figure it out together. You're not being told what to do.
Personalized. We find strategies that match your brain, not someone else's.
Practical. You leave every session with something concrete to try.
Temporary. The goal is for you not to need me. But I'll be there as long as you want me.

Executive function coaching is not

×
Therapy. I don't treat mental health. But coaching pairs well with therapy.
×
Tutoring. I don't teach specific subjects. I teach how to learn and follow through.
×
A quick fix. We're building skills tailored to you over time, not handing you a system.
×
One-size-fits-all. What worked for someone else might not work for you.

"When you understand how your brain works, everything else gets easier."

The executive function coaching journey

WHERE YOU START

Executive Function Journey Phase 1

Feeling overwhelmed, frustrated, or just ... stuck.

"I know what I need to do. I just can't make myself do it."

A free 30-minute call. You tell me what's going on, I ask questions, and we see if I can help.
If I'm not the right fit, I'll say so and point you somewhere better. No sales pitch.
Most people get here after years of powering through alone. You're not late. You're right on time.

THE WORK

Executive Function Journey Phase 2

Try things. See what sticks. Adjust.

"It's okay that my way looks different from everyone else's."

In weekly sessions, we dig into what's making life hard and build a system together.
For students: we build toward independence. This is your work and you learn how you do it best.
For adults: we test strategies that support where you're challenged and adjust them for your life.

Detours happen, and that’s part of the journey.

Some weeks the system falls apart, motivation disappears, or life throws something at you. It might feel like failure, but it's not. It's information we can learn from. I'll be there the whole way, without judgment, with new ideas, and with the support that keeps you moving forward.

WHERE YOU END UP

Executive Function Journey Phase 3

You handle it yourself. That's the end goal.

Sessions space out on your timeline. Everyone's is different, and I won't push you before you're ready.
You're using strategies without thinking about them. The tools are yours now. Independence is the goal.
We'll decide together when you're ready to try things on your own. There's no set timeline.

"I didn't even think about it. I just ... did it."

What a session actually looks like

5-10 mins

Check-in

How did last week go? What worked, what didn't, what came up? This isn't small talk. It's data we use to decide where to focus today.

45-50 mins

Dig in together

It might be different every time. Maybe we're building a system for tracking assignments. Maybe we're unpacking why mornings are so hard. Maybe we're working toward a long-term goal. Practical, conversational, collaborative.

5-10 mins

Build the plan

One or two things to try this week. Not homework. Not a to-do list. Something specific enough to act on and small enough to actually do.

The practical details

All sessions are confidential. Your information is never shared without your permission.

SESSIONS

About 60 minutes

Some run shorter, some longer. Depends on the work.

Then biweekly, monthly, and check-ins as needed.

DIAGNOSIS

Not required

You don't need a diagnosis to benefit from coaching.

Common questions

  • Tutoring teaches subjects. I teach how to learn. Planning, organization, time management, focus. The skills that make tutoring (and everything else) work.

  • Therapy addresses emotional and psychological health. Executive function coaching builds practical skills and strategies. They complement each other well, and coaching pairs well with therapy. Many of my clients do both.

  • No. Some of my clients have ADHD diagnoses, some don't, and some are still figuring that out. Coaching is about building skills, not labels. If executive function is getting in your way, that's enough reason to be here.

  • High school seniors and college students. I don't currently work with younger kids. If your child is in middle school or earlier, I'm happy to point you to someone who's a better fit.

  • Your kid and I meet one-on-one. Sessions are private, building that independence is part of the work. I'll loop you in on the big picture with periodic check-ins, and I'm always reachable between sessions if something comes up.

  • It depends on the person. Sessions start weekly, then space out to biweekly, monthly, and eventually as-needed. There's no set number. The goal is for you to not need coaching anymore.

  • That's okay. A free intro call lets you and them see what it's actually like. But coaching only works when the person shows up willingly. I won't force it, and neither should you.

  • Not currently. I can provide receipts for sessions if you'd like to check with your insurance about out-of-network reimbursement for coaching services.

Therapists, counselors, and schools: I welcome referrals and I'm happy to coordinate care.
